ENGLEHART - The gates open to the Englehart Fall Fair for three fun-filled days starting September 9 and ending on the Saturday, September 11.
Secretary Dorothy Robertson says the theme this year is “2010 - Beginning Again”.
The theme highlights the fact that this centenarian event is starting on its second hundred years this year.
Participants in the fair placed their entries on Wednesday and Thursday. The arena was closed from 1-7 p.m. so the judges could assess the entries and place the items.
SHOW BEGINS
However, starting on Thursday evening the complex is open to viewing by the public. There are exhibits, concessions and a silent auction in the arena.
Visitors have a chance to see many demonstrations this year. These are spinning, weaving, quilting, rope making, the petting farm, Papa Jim and his Bees, face painting, Englehart and Area Artists, games for the children.
Food booths include the chip stand, Mad Murray’s BBQ, candyfloss, candy apples, Kettle Corn, and the Tomstown Church Booth.
An added feature is a forestry bus tour of the area.
There will also be a bearwise display to educate people about how to deter unwanted pests around the home.
For more information visit the Temiskaming Stewardship Council booth at the fair.
